JOHNNY LIGHTNING “BARN FINDS” 1970 PLYMOUTH SUPERBIRD 2-PACK (1:64)
If you follow our sister-brand Auto World then this car may look familiar to you. We first discovered Mike Hill’s awesome Superbird Barn Find at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals last year and it stopped us in our tracks. After recreating his car in 1:18 scale, we knew it’d be a funky addition to Johnny Lightning 1:64 too!
In 1970, this Plymouth Superbird was driven by drag racing’s well-known Tim Richards. Back then, it had a Sox & Martin 426 HEMI® propelling Richards to win the SS/EA class at the 1970 Summernationals. After multiple owners, an engine swap, a psychedelic paint job, and two dormant decades collecting dust, Mike Hill bought the car in 2014. To this day, the search is underway to find the factory-installed numbers-matching 426 street HEMI®. Since 1970, this bad Bird still has less than 1500 miles!
We’ve replicated this car both as the groovy custom beauty it is today and it’s original color of B5 Blue! Expect to see these 2-packs hitting shelves soon!
